Speakers
Major General Patrick Brady is a devout Catholic and retired “Dustoff” helicopter rescue pilot from the Vietnam War. He and his fellow pilots helped pioneer rescue techniques which saved tens of thousands of lives in Vietnam. He speaks to the values represented by the Medal of Honor.
Rafael and Amanda Barbosa are faithful Catholic servicemembers whose lives took an abrupt change after a deadly cancer diagnosis- deadly, that is, until Father Kapaun stepped in. Hear their inspiring story.
Scott Carter is the Coordinator for Father Kapaun’s Cause. He works on a daily basis to carry on Father Kapaun’s legacy and spread devotion to him.
Father John Hotze is the Episcopal Delegate for the Cause for Beatification of Father Emil Kapaun and directed the efforts to conduct the research to present to the Dicastery for Saints in Rome.
Newman University
The Father Kapaun Symposium will be hosted on the campus of Newman University in Wichita. The event will begin with Mass at St. John’s Chapel, where Father Kapaun was ordained a priest. The talks and lunch will be held in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center.
